Oh dear

It's been so busy around here lately! Both me and Malin have had a bunch of exams and essays to write for school, so unfortunately Project Euana (which getting a new name soon) has suffered a little. Also, Malin's Wacom broke and had to be sent for repairs, but she got it back and is back in business. Yay!

Yours truly is heading off to England for six weeks and I'm hoping that I won't be too swamped. There's so many things that have to be put on paper!

PE Wiki:

Did you know that the Jaxxir is one of the most violent and unfriendly races in Euana? Don't look at them the wrong way, and please don't try to enter their realm since they'll most probably kill you and take your scalp.

Kaikulian fun fact:
Did you know the Kaikulians consider it a great disgrace to be buried?
Kaikuul is a land of lush green jungle and the beautiful great shore line of the sea, so naturally the soil is very damp. They believe their remains will forever be preserved in the ground, keeping their spirit prison in the body.
They all wish to have their remains burnt so that their spirits can be reborn into their shape shifting kind like their great ancestors.

Busy busy

So it's been very quiet around here for a little while. But that doesn't necessarily mean that there is not work being done. I think it's quite the contrary! However I've been a bit distracted with other parts of the storyline and I'm having a bit of trouble reconnecting to where I left off with Lara and Dash. Malin is putting together some really cool artwork and inspiration is coming back to me. Sit tight people.

AWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Getting ahead of myself as usual! But I can't work on one singular thing of this project when there's so much awesome in each time-line!
And as we go along in our story we'll encounter these people that are shape shifters, we used to just called them the polymorphs. Here's some doodles of this fella that I came up with like many of our characters about 10 years ago. His name is Thruster and together with his brother Grayrunner he can shift into the form of a large bronze wolf. This one is full of mischief and all about slamming himself into his opponents.

Blip!

Awww, why is Nightglam crying?

No more gold lights for the queen earth to keep you warm in your kingdoms
High on the waves you make for us
But not since you left have the waves come
The bar is dead and the rocket's rain is keeping you wet in your deathbed
So high on the waves you made for us
And not since you left have the waves come...

Halt! Halt! Halt!

So here we are, I'm on blessed vacation while Malin has to go back to work.
We've run into some minor obstacles here. It appears as Malin's internetconnection is down and I had to send my computer off to be repaired (shut up Malin). But never fear, we'll keep on working with the means we have. Just be patient!

Huzzah!

The heat here in the north is relentless, but we keep on mashing out ideas for our little world we created when we were but two little tomboyish girls playing roleplaying games on our windows 95 giant desktop computers. I'm currently working on a big world map among other things, but until that's finished here are some more doodledumps:

These are the Marjak, they come from a small land on the eastern continent. This land is mostly made up of thick and lush trees in which these litte people live. However many families have moved out of their secluded homeland and out to the big bustling cities and many live in the capital of Euana. They're not in any way a hostile race, they're actually quite hospitable and generous, although some have strayed to the path of criminality as they make excellent pickpockets and master thieves. The Marjaks are also master craftsmen and they can create the most beautifully detailed clothing and armor with their little fingers, and this is generally how they make their living in the civilized world. Being vegetarians they have great knowledge of herbs and vegetation and everyone know a Marjak's potion when they taste it, same goes for their delishious thistle tea.

Marjak's don't grow taller than 120cm and the females are a bit smaller, leaner and have bigger eyes.

>( ' ____ ' )<

Dash is Lara's long time side-kick. Lara was kind enough to buy him his first horse. He joyfully named this beautiful white mare Dream-Cream (much to Lara's disapproval). But after a series of getting stomped by hooves, getting thrown off and general bad chemistry this horse was later renamed Sour-Cream....VERY Sour-Cream. Dash still claims that "the four-legged smelly fiend is out to get me."

that thing you know...

...I think it's called organizing. That's what I need right now. Got too many ideas popping into my head at the moment and I need some way of organizing them. Even at this early stage making a new word document for each idea is very frustrating. So I'm currently looking into some other writing software with storyboard features.
I'm really digging Scrivener, it seems very clean and simple to use. But since it's only available for Mac Malin isn't able to use it. Celtx seems to be a really good alternative but I haven't had the time to explore it. But I think either software will make my life easier, gathering all documents at the same place without making 127382894981309 word documents.

plenty of first drafts and ideas rolling out of my head. Next week is my final week at work, so I'm hoping I will be more focused and might be able to compile a first draft for the first chapter when I get some time off.

Elin pointed out to me that our little thingy could easily be confused with Mortal Kombat so we're trying to figure out a new name for thing shindig at the moment. Harder than I thought it would be!

Anyway, since I am a pure chaotic brain-half I really just started creating everything that came to mind, while Elin has done some splendid writing for the first chapter in our little adventure. Here's some of my doodles of current characters and others that come in to play much later in the timeline.

A new beginning

Wow! So me and Malin decided to dig deep in boxes put away at the far back in the attic. There we found our personal link to the past, our old fantasy stories. It was tremendous fun to read them again and rediscover the characters. The character gallery is so wast that it is sometimes hard to keep them all apart. After reading them we agreed that this is too good to keep at the back of the attic.

We are now laying down the outlines for a graphic novel. Characters are being honed, cut and switched around, a world is forming in our heads and drafts are flowing from our fingers. Creativity is burning bright in the far reaches of northern Sweden!

Progress will be recorded here, for those who care enough to read about it. We both hope that there will be more visitors than just the two of us.

Enjoy

P.S. For the record: this is my first real blog post. Be patient! D.S.
